Nina De Bettin Padolin, BA MA MA, was awarded the “Talentförderungsprämie” (a stipend geared towards recognizing young talents who have a demonstrated history within cultural studies) by the state of Upper Austria in the category “cultural studies and the humanities.” Governor Mag. Thomas Stelzer considers the recipients of said stipends as representatives showcasing the outstanding and diverse artistic and cultural work created in Upper Austria. According to him, the recipients of the “Talentförderungsprämie” play a significant role in the endeavor to “shape and carry on the reputation of Upper Austria as a cultural region” (see the German original text at: www.land-oberoesterreich.gv.at/270338.htm). Ms. De Bettin Padolin has received this prestigious award for the master's theses she wrote as part of the European Joint Master’s Program in English and American Studies as well as in Interdisciplinary Gender Studies. The Institute for American Studies is happy to announce that Ms. De Bettin Padolin is continuing her academic training as a doctoral student at the University of Graz after having recently returned from a year-long stay as a German Language Teaching Assistant in the United States. Congratulations to you, Ms. De Bettin Padolin!
