The literary magazine for non-native English writing, Tint Journal, is currently offering two opportunities: 

OPEN CALL FOR TINT FALL ’26

Share your short stories, creative nonfiction essays, flash and poetry, written in English as your non-native language, as well as your artworks until May 31, 2026 (midnight CEST) with Tint to be considered for the 16th issue of Tint Journal (Fall ’26) on the theme of nurture! For inspiration and more information, please review the open call description and the submission guidelines at www.tintjournal.com/submit. Tint’s editorial is looking forward to reading your work! OPEN LIST SLOT AT «TINTED TALES»

Tint is happy to offer one open list slot at this year’s edition of “Tinted Tales” on May 28, 2026, at 7 pm in Graz!
You write creatively in English as a second or non-native language and your texts have not yet appeared in Tint Journal? You'd like to read your work at our event? We welcome all genres (poetry, short stories, essays, …); beginners, amateurs, and professional writers; and, of course, all accents. Please note that you have to be able to join us live on-site. Travel help is possible for open list performers residing outside of Graz.

To apply, send an email to andrea.faerber(at)tintjournal.com and

  • tell us why you'd like to join our reading as a performer;
  • state the place/region/country you’d like to be associated with and your native language(s) in the email; and
  • attach the story or poems that you would like to read for your 10-minute slot.

DEADLINE FOR APPLICATION: May 3, 2026, midnight (CEST)⠀

We especially welcome LGBTQ+ individuals and people from diverse and minority backgrounds to apply. This event is meant to be a safeR, inclusive space where everyone can feel comfortable and respected.
