During the two-day event co-hosted by the Karl-Franzens-University Graz (KFU) and Friedrich-Alexander University Erlangen-Nürnberg (FAU), the Elisabeth-List Fellowship Research Group “Intimate Readings” presented the results of their collaboration. On the first day, eminent affect scholar Ann Cvetkovich (Carleton University, Ottawa) introduced her work on “Public Feelings in a Time of Pandemic.” During the subsequent symposium “Perspectives on Affective Worldmaking,” the research group discussed their research on affective worldmaking and narrative counterpublics of gender and sexuality. The event culminated in a roundtable discussion entitled “Finding a Way Out? Affective Possibilities in Times of Crisis” between Ann Cvetkovich, Claudia Breger (Columbia University), May Friedman (Ryerson University), Ahmet Atay (College of Wooster), Renate Hansen-Kokorus (KFU), and the members of the research group.
