Good-bye to Associate Professor Dr. Silvia Schultermandl

The American Studies department says “goodbye” and “farewell” to Associate Professor Dr. Silvia Schultermandl and wishes her the very best for the continuation of her academic career. As of today, she is full professor of American Studies at the University of Münster, Germany. We would like to thank Prof. Schultermandl for many years of inspiring students and colleagues at the University of Graz with her research and teaching in American Studies, most prominently in the areas of transnational feminism, affect theory, and family and kinship studies. We appreciate that she cooperated with colleagues throughout our university and that she put Graz on the international map within her fields of expertise, in which she has participated and established far-reaching networks of scholars, many of whom have visited our university and enriched our guest speaker offerings. Prof. Schultermandl will be sorely missed, but we hope to maintain strong ties with her through research cooperation and through student and faculty exchange.
